China Eastern Airlines
Based in the Changning District of Shanghai, China Eastern Airlines is one of China’s largest and most prominent airlines, offering a wide range of international, regional, and domestic routes. Founded in 1988, the airline became a proud member of the SkyTeam alliance on June 21, 2011.
SkyTeam Alliance
The SkyTeam alliance, founded in June 2000, comprises 19 member airlines that serve over 1,150 destinations worldwide. Together, these airlines carry more than 630 million passengers annually and provide access to over 750 lounges around the globe. SkyTeam members offer exclusive privileges based on their frequent flyer programs, with two elite membership levels: Elite and Elite Plus, linked to the airline’s frequent flyer status.

Travel Classes
China Eastern Airlines offers a variety of seating options across its three primary classes:
Economy Class
Economy Class passengers are allowed one piece of carry-on luggage and one checked bag for domestic flights, or two checked bags for international flights. The class offers comfortable seating with adjustable footrests and headrests, as well as personal TV screens and laptop power points. Guests can enjoy a selection of Chinese and Western meal options on board.
Basic Economy Fare: This option is available only for international flights within Asia. It is a lower-cost option but does not include a refund policy, upgrade options, or baggage allowances. Passengers can check in at the airport and select seats during check-in.
Business Class
Business Class passengers are entitled to one piece of hand baggage and one checked bag for domestic flights, or two checked bags for international flights. The class features comfortable, angle-lie-flat seats equipped with built-in massage functions. Additional amenities include laptop power points, interactive entertainment systems, and English and Chinese newsletters to enhance the passenger experience.
First Class
First Class passengers are permitted one piece of carry-on luggage and one checked bag for domestic flights, or three checked bags for international flights. First Class cabins feature convertible seats, personal TV screens, and a duvet and pillow for added comfort. Guests enjoy gourmet meals, a luxurious amenity kit, slippers, and pyjamas, as well as laptop power points and an interactive entertainment system. English and Chinese newsletters are also available.
Frequent Flyer Program: Eastern Miles
Eastern Miles is China Eastern Airlines’ loyalty program, allowing passengers to earn mileage points while flying with the airline. These points can be redeemed for rewards such as award tickets, upgrades, and extra services. Points can also be accumulated through partnerships with various industries, including hotels, banks, telecommunications, car rentals, and travel agencies. Members can even gift flight tickets to loved ones.
Membership has two levels:
- Silver: Earn 40,000 points annually
- Gold: Earn 80,000 points annually
Baggage Allowance
- Carry-On Baggage: Passengers can bring one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 10 kg.
- Checked Baggage:
- Economy and Super Economy: 20 kg for domestic flights, 23 kg for international flights.
- Business Class: 30 kg for domestic flights, 32 kg per piece for international flights.
- First Class: 40 kg for domestic flights, 32 kg per piece for international flights.
