Thai Airways, the national airline of Thailand, is based in Chatuchak District, Bangkok. Historically, the airline gained recognition for operating the world’s longest non-stop flight route, connecting Bangkok with Los Angeles and New York. With a fleet of around 80 aircraft, the airline services 74 international destinations. Initially, Thai Airways was formed as a joint venture between Scandinavian Airlines and Thai Airways Company, which played a role in expanding its global presence.

Classes of Service
Thai Airways offers three classes to accommodate various travel needs:
- Royal First Class: Experience luxury with spacious seating, premium champagne, silken caviar, and personalized amenities, such as tailored travel kits.
- Royal Silk Class: This business class service offers a refined flying experience with access to exclusive lounges, internet options (for an additional fee), and comfortable seating for work or rest.
- Economy Class: Passengers enjoy ample legroom, comfortable seating, and essential amenities like pillows, blankets, eye shades, and earplugs for a relaxing journey.
Baggage Allowance
- Economy Class: Passengers can bring up to 7kg of hand luggage and check-in 30kg of baggage.
- Royal Class: Royal Class passengers are allowed 7kg of hand luggage and up to 40kg of checked baggage.
Frequent Flyer Program
The Royal Orchid Plus program offers passengers a chance to accumulate miles when flying with Thai Airways and its Star Alliance partners. Miles can be redeemed for upgrades, award flights, and even hotel bookings, enhancing the travel experience.
In-Flight Entertainment & Dining
Thai Airways offers an impressive selection of over 1,000 hours of entertainment, including movies, short films, games, and live news available through personal screens. Onboard dining features a wide array of authentic Thai and international dishes, paired with fine wines, spirits, and aged cognac. Special meal requests, such as vegetarian or dietary needs, must be made at least 48 hours before departure.
Check-In
- Domestic Flights: You can check in anytime from 24 hours to 2 hours before departure.
- International Flights: Check-in opens 24 hours to 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.
