Jazz Aviation
Jazz Aviation LP (Jazz), based at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, operates major hubs in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. The airline is owned by Chorus Aviation Inc., an independent holding company, and operates under a Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA) with Air Canada. This partnership allows Jazz to play a critical role in Air Canada’s domestic and transborder operations, providing a wide-reaching network of regional services within Canada and the United States. Jazz, which operates primarily with Bombardier regional aircraft, is the second-largest airline in Canada by fleet size and is the only airline serving all 10 provinces and two territories.
Jazz’s operations are extensive, offering more flights and serving more Canadian destinations than any other airline in the country. Through the CPA, Air Canada purchases the majority of Jazz’s fleet capacity at predetermined rates, which benefits both companies by ensuring low operating costs, commercial flexibility, and efficient traffic connections. This agreement also mitigates Jazz’s financial risks while providing a stable foundation for continued growth and operations.
